National Nursing Home week proclamation by City of McAllen

City of McAllen, Pro- Term Mayor Hilda Salinas  Congratulates Las Palmas and handed over the National Nursing Home week Proclamation to its Administrator Hari Namboodiri on  May  9  after presenting it before the City Council.

.           Las Palmas salutes its residents, staff and members of the community-at-large during this celebration week. Enriching every day theme cannot be expressed by words alone; to appreciate the “enriching” in the long term care setting is to see and hear life around in the nursing home at Las Palmas Nursing Home.

The ability of Las Palmas to enrich residents lives stems from caregiving to unique residents to overcome many obstacles and infirmities of age and disability, where acts of caring, kindness and respect are the norm.

Many of Las Palmas staff members became nursing home caregivers with the goal of making a difference in resident’s lives and developed positive bond with residents. The caregivers at Las Palmas have established not only better physical care and healing, but also enrichment of the mind, heart and spirit.

“Enriching Every Day” is more apparent when residents, often isolated in the greater community, are embraced by community involvement and by the nursing home community. We are committed to our community” said Hari Namboodiri, Administrator Las Palmas Healthcare Center.
