Edinburg, TX—Doctors Hospital at Renaissance (DHR) offered a five-tiered Triage Courseon May 27th and May 28th, 2010 at Del Prado at Renaissance. This program was designed for nurses preparing to take on the challenge of triage. The course was a great preparation opportunity for nurses wanting to increase their assessment skills using the five-tiered triage method and knowledge of emergency nursing.
DHR’s Triage Course was presented by Joni Hentzen Daniels, MSN, RN, CEN, CCRN, CNS. Joni has been an Emergency Department nurse since 1983. She has worked in rural facilities, large tertiary facilities, as well as community and university-based teaching hospitals. Joni also worked as a flight nurse for three years. Joni has been a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) since 1990. She maintains certification every four years by the examination option. Ms. Daniels co-developed a CEN Review Course in 1992 and has taught the content based on updated information in 15 states over the past five years. She describes the current content as the best structured yet.
