Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Hosts Leadership Conference for Employees

Edinburg, TX— Doctors Hospital at Renaissance (DHR) hosted a Leadership Conference on Saturday, June 5th, 2010 for more than 140 hospital directors and managers.

The purpose of the Leadership Conference was to instill a culture of “passion for excellence” in DHR’s leaders so that they could take that enthusiasm back to their departments, inspire their coworkers, and deliver high quality healthcare.

During the Leadership Conference, attendees were educated on the importance of teamwork and were encouraged to continuously lead by example. Further, the DHR supervisors were motivated to reinforce a culture of having a passion for excellence in all their work endeavors.

The Leadership Conference was led by Karyn Buxman, RN, and Rolfe Carawan, CEO and founder of Carawan Global Communications and Consulting. Buxman has her masters in nursing and did her graduate work on the relationship between humor, health and communication.

She shared with DHR’s leaders how they can harness humor and leverage laughter to re-charge, re-energize, and re-kindle the passion about the work they are called to do.

Buxman was bestowed the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor. She is also one of 30 women in the world to be inducted into the Speaker Hall of Fame.

Rolfe Carawan’s expertise in human dynamics gives him the unique ability to help organizations sustain unity through change and challenging times.

His winning strategies have been developed over 30 years of successfully coaching, managing, and motivating people.

Carawan has helped over one-quarter of a million people throughout America and is the author of two books, Profiles in Character and The Character Revolution. Inspired by his passion to relieve suffering and release potential, Carawan brought with him real-world experience and proven strategies for DHR’s leaders.
