Rio Grande Valley --- The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce once a year takes the time to honor the medical community.  Sponsoring this year’s Medical Awards Banquet are Superior Health Plan and South Texas Health Systems.  On Thursday, January 26^th the RGVHCC will host the dinner at The Club at Cimarron where guests will get to honor their peers in the following categories:  General Physician, Specialty Physician, Hospital, Physician’s Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse, Volunteer and Nursing Home. 

The criteria required to be honored is that of dedication and the best in their field.  Close to a hundred nominations were submitted to the chamber noting excellent qualities of the nominees from their own peers.  “We are happy to be able to recognize the Medical Community”, noted Armando Garza, RGVHCC Chair.  “The Rio Grande Valley has become a true Medical Mecca and we would like to give recognition where recognition is due”.  “We wish to thank Superior Health Care and the South Texas Health System for their dedication to the health community” stated Cynthia M. Sakulenzki, RGVHCC Pres/CEO.
